Books and Educational Materials (and remedies…)

  • Homeopathic Educational Services is the website for resources and services run by Dana Ullman CCH, making books, remedies and other products and services available since 1975. This site has interesting articles and research info as well as products.
  • Narayana Verlag is a large international bookseller with a good selection of homeopathic books, as well as many other natural health products. They also have a public calendar of international homeopathic seminars. You can also subscribe to the international homeopathy journal ‘Spectrum’ from their site.

Online Journals / Repositories

  • Interhomeopathy is an online journal with articles on many different topics, published by Narayana.
  • Homeopathe International is a bilingual site (French and English) with articles, history, and e-versions of many homeopathic books.
  • Hpathy is a website with online journal, classes, and many resources for practitioners, consumers, and those curious about homeopathy.
  • Homeobook has many interesting articles on line about homeopathy in various countries around the world.
  • Julian Winston Archives has many articles, references, history and insights. Julian passed away in 2005, but his work remains
  • Homeopathy Research International hosts an excellent homeopathic research repository (articles, educational videos, references)

Homeopathic Remedies / Pharmacies / Lab Testing for Consumers (and related…)

Standard setting and professional organizations for homeopathic pharmacy

  • Homeopathic Pharmacopeia Convention of the United States (HPCUS) is the organization that holds and expands the official compendium of the homeopathic remedies in the US – the homeopathic pharmacopeia. This is a standards setting organization that interfaces with the FDA. There is so much valuable information on the website – beneficial for each homeopath to read and understand.
  • The American Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists (AAHP) is an organization representing homeopathic product manufacturers. They have had played an important role to play over the past decade of increased regulatory attention toward homeopathy from the FDA and FTC. There is much useful information on their website about the homeopathic products industry and those who use them – look under the ‘Resources’ tab. There is a directory of homeopathic manufacturers who are AAHP members listed there.
  • US Food and Drug Administration regulates the manufacture and OTC labeling of homeopathic products in the US.
  • European Coalition on Homeopathic and Anthroposophic Medicinal Products (ECHAMP) is an advocacy group of pharmacies and affiliated organizations. ECHAMP monitors, advises and educates about EU policy and legislation, to ensure availability of homeopathic and anthroposophic medicines. They issue press releases and manage a media presence. There is excellent reference info on their site about the history and current regulatory environment in Europe.

Homeopathic Pharmacies for Practitioners (some also sell to consumers)

  • Ainsworth Pharmacy in London is a full homeopathic pharmacy that is also a reliable source for those who want to purchase the Carcinosin 58T in all potencies, pioneered by Tinus Smits, and often referenced in Karen Allen’s classes. You can email them specifically to request it.
  • Boiron is a large homeopathic manufacturer, based in France, with retail remedy sales throughout the US in stores like Whole Foods, Pharmaca, and other health food retailers. Credentialed practitioners and students can set up professional accounts to order for their offices; practitioners can dropship to clients. In addition to homeopathics, they carry gemmotherapy.
  • Deseret Biologicals is based in Utah, and carries many nosodes in series therapy boxed kits. They send a catalog to practitioners when the account is set up. Practitioners must be registered to purchase (and any account not used for 1 year is deleted as noncurrent and must be recreated) – professional sales only by phone or web / no email orders.
  • Hahnemann Laboratories, located in California, was founded by Michael Quinn. They carry a very wide variety of C potencies, and LM potencies. For practitioners, they make available office dispensing kits that create an affordable option for new practitioners. Dropship of remedies by a practitioner to clients is charged at full retail (not wholesale) rate. Higher potency remedies are sold to clients with phone approval from the practitioner; lower potencies can by purchased by consumers.
  • Helios is a UK based homeopathic manufacturer with a wide variety of C, X and LM potencies. They also carry many isodes (remedies made from other drugs), and other remedies that are not easy to find. Email them to inquire about anything you don’t see on their website – not all of their remedies are listed. Shipping to the US is not expensive; time frames can be variable, from a few days to a few weeks. They also sell to consumers.
  • OHM Pharma is based in Midland Texas, run by Dr. Roberto Melo who serves on HPCUS committees. OHM Pharma sells to practitioners / students. Practitioners need to set up an account. Instructions are on their website. They also offer kits. The team at OHM also works with practitioners who want to develop their own homeopathic products, helping with the entire process from planning and registration to production and delivery.
  • Washington Homeopathic Supply has a large selection, with many X potencies as well as the usual C and LM potencies available. Based in West Virginia. They also carry many types of kits for home and office, and other supplies. They sell to practitioners and consumers, and will drop ship orders to clients.
  • Remedia Pharmacy based in Austria has an incredible array of homeopathics in all potencies (Note that the US ‘X’ potencies are European ‘D’ potencies.) Unfortunately, they are not currently shipping to the US – we live in hope that this may change… For those of you in other countries – take advantage of their breadth of options and reliable service.

Homeopathic Pharmacy / Services for Consumer

  • 1-800-Homeopathy is a vendor that provides homeopathics and kits for practitioners and consumers from many different manufacturers, including cell salts and other homeopathic products. Their blog has many interesting articles of interest to consumers.
  • Bestmade Natural Products, based in Florida, manufactures and sells cell salts singly and in kits. They also offer complex remedy formulas for specific issues.
  • Homeopathy Overnight is a vendor based in Oregon that offers both regular and rush delivery to consumers. They will also help to locate a remedy that is unusual or hard to find.
  • Hylands homeopathic pharmacy is a US based manufacturer of cell salts and combination formulas. They sell to the public on their website and in stores. They previously offered a practitioner service (Hylands Treatment Options) which is now closed.
  • MirandaCastroShop is the website for books, remedy kits, and other homeopathic products run by Miranda Castro. Useful for both practitioners and consumers. In addition to her own books and products, she has articles and free webinars you can stream on various topics like fevers, back pain and other common complaints.
  • Newton Homeopathics is based in Georgia, and carries both single remedies and complexes for people and pets.
  • Olloïs Pharmacy offers single remedies that are lactose free and certified organic, along with a line for pets Ollopets. Order online from their website, and find their products available in wellness sections at stores or online vendors like Amazon.

Gemmotherapy Vendors

  • Gemmotherapy by Stuart Garber, a California based homeopath, offers gemmo combinations for specific issues for people and pets.
  • Gemmotherapy by Lauren Hubele, a Texas based homeopath, offers training and gemmotherapy single tinctures and kits.
  • NatureProvides is a gemmotherapy distributor that also offers webinars for training, and an informative email newsletter.
  • Gemmos USA sells the HerbalGem line of gemmotherapy, and Reckeweg products. Orders are only by phone or email / not online.

Lab Testing for Consumers

  • Life Extension Foundation offer a wide variety of lab tests which can be purchased by consumers. This is a great resource for clients who do not have insurance coverage, or whose primary care practitioner declines to request specific labs.
  • RequestATest.com offers a wide variety of titer testing for many vaccines and diseases to help clients know their status.

Local, State, Regional, National Membership Organizations for Homeopaths in North America

Membership associations for homeopaths by professional affiliation/training

  • In North America
    • The Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy supports homeopathic use and education for veterinarians throughout the US, and
      credentials homeopathic veterinarians. Their website has a directory of CVH certificants.
    • The Homeopathic Association of Naturopathic Physicians credentials and supports the use of homeopathy for naturopaths. They publish the journal Simillimum and their website has a directory of DHANP diplomates.
    • The Homeopathic Nurses Association supports nurses learning about and using homeopathy. Their website has a directory and resource information.
    • The North American Society of Homeopaths is a membership organization in US / Canada that maintains a membership directory and publishes the American Homeopath. They administer a credential, and their website has a directory of RSHom(NA) certificants.

Consumer, Grassroots and Advocacy organizations for homeopathy

  • Americans for Homeopathy Choice is a grass roots organization that advocates for consumers who choose to use homeopathy. The organization has a media training and coordination program to help keep homeopathic messaging on track in the media, and has coordinated political outreach with “Homeopathy on the Hill’ events to connect consumers who use homeopathy with legislators. They have authored and submitted multiple petitions to the FDA in its recent re-evaluation of homeopathic products.
  • HOHM Foundation is a not-for-profit initiative to support inclusion of homeopathy through clinical outreach, data collection, research funding and a resource repository.
  • Homeopaths without Borders – North America (HWB-NA) is a charitable organization that supports homeopathy’s training and
    clinical service in Haiti, as well as projects with underserved populations in the US
  • Homeopathy Institute of the Pacific (HIP) is a California based nonprofit that runs low cost and free clinics for homeless, veteran and underserved populations in the Bay Area of California
  • Homeopathy UK is a charitable organization that runs low cost clinics, and provides a directory of registered homeopaths
  • National Center for Homeopathy is an advocacy organization that champions homeopathy. They hold an annual conference (JAHC) and publish the quarterly magazine Homeopathy Today.
  • The Traveling Homoeopaths Collective is a charitable organization that runs portable clinics at UK music festivals and events
  • 4homeopathy is an international organization that promotes a grass roots awareness of homeopathy, including their popular ‘Homeopathy Worked for Me’ project, and strong support for World Homeopathy Awareness Week. Their various sites offer practitioner directories. It’s presence in Canada is an active group with online webinars and resources.

Schools and Training Programs

For those who intend to practice homeopathy professionally in the US, attendance at an accredited school is an important requirement for the Council for Homeopathic Certification’s eligibility criteria. The Accreditation Commission for Homeopathy in North America (ACHENA) maintains a list of fully accredited homeopathy schools in North America here. These school are currently accredited:

The Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges (AANMC) maintain a list of the accredited naturopathic programs in the US and Canada that include education in homeopathy.

Some of these schools have alumni associations for their graduates with study groups, continuing education and discussion forums.

There are many who want to study homeopathy, but do not have professional certification as their goal. Or they may already be credentialed and looking for continuing education in areas of interest. These programs may be appropriate options to consider, including some online or independent study plans that make training easily accessible.

Whole Health Now offers a wide array of courses, from beginning to advanced continuing education. They also offer homeopathic software. Their website has a lot of interesting reference information, including a timeline of homeopathy, and articles by well known homeopaths.

Homeopathy Organizations (Infrastructure)

  • The Accreditation Commission for Homeopathy in North America (ACHENA) accredits homeopathic schools in the US and Canada. They also administer accreditation for post graduate continuing education, and facilitate the stakeholder review and update process each decade for the Homeopathic Standards and Competencies document. They are pursuing US Department of Education recognition, which, when obtained, will eventually allow students to qualify for loans for homeopathic education at accredited schools.
  • The American Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists (AAHP) is an organization representing homeopathic product manufacturers. They have had an important role to play over the past decade of increased regulatory attention toward homeopathy from the FDA and FTC. There is much useful information on their website about the homeopathic products industry and those who use them – look under the ‘Resources’ tab. There is a directory of homeopathic manufacturers who are members listed here – more extensive than what is included above in our HUB resource directory.
  • The American Institute of Homeopathy (AIH) supports physicians learning about and using homeopathy. Through the related organization, American Board of Homeotherapeutics, they grant qualifying physicians, nurses, and naturopaths the ABHt credential. They publish the American Journal of Homeopathic Medicine.
  • The Council for Homeopathic Certification credentials homeopaths in the US and Canada. It is independently accredited by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence. The credential, CCH (Certified in Classical Homeopathy) includes the certificant within the US National Healthcare Workforce. The credentialing exam is offered twice each year. Their website has a directory of CCH homeopaths.
  • Homeopathic Pharmacopeia Convention of the United States (HPCUS) is the organization that holds and expands the official compendium of the homeopathic remedies in the US – the homeopathic pharmacopeia. Clinics and Practice Directory [Paid] Resources

  • The Homeopathy Institute of the Pacific (HIP) runs free and low cost clinics in California for veterans, homeless and underserved populations
  • Homeopathy Help Now is an online clinic for consumers offering acute and chronic care. Practitioners and students attending AHE provide care. Client data contributes to HOHM research on homeopathic case work and outcomes.
  • HOHM’s Practitioner Generated Research Network collects case data from practitioners for clinical research.
  • Homeopathy 24/7 is a UK based global practitioner directory service; practitioners provide evidence of qualifications, pay for a listing, and consumers seeking services are able to peruse practitioners and schedule consults.
  • Integrative Healers Action Network (IHAN) is a nonprofit that provides support to evacuated populations at shelters, and to first responders. Based on their Memorandum of Understanding with the Red Cross, they have been able to provide services at Red Cross shelters. Homeopathy is included in the offerings homeopaths provide evidence of qualifications and insurance, and are vetted to participate.
